Jewish / Israeli / Klezmer Repertoire
Daniel’s roots lie in Jewish Music first and foremost, not only because of his ethnic and cultural background, but because some of his most important influences in 20th century music have been Jewish, including George Gershwin, Andre Previn and Leonard Bernstein in particular, who crossed over so seemlessly from Classical to Jazz as well as the great songwriters such as Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé and Burt Bacharach, not forgetting more contemporary Jewish writer/performers such as Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Billy Joel, Adam Levine, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon, Barbara Streisand, and last but not least Israeli and Modern Orthodox performers, writers and interpreters Mordechai Ben David, Yaakov Shwekey, Ishtar, Ofra Haza, Gad Elbaz, Omer Adam, Ishay Ribo and Avraham Fried.
With his wide range of traditional Jewish repertoire, as well as songs in French, Yiddish, Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew and Portuguese, Daniel has been invited many times to perform at the Holocaust Survivor Centre where he is considered to be one of the favourite entertainers.
